DEAD SEA

DEAD SEA

DSC_9018.jpg

Lowest point on the surface of the earth

The Dead Sea is surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Negev Desert. The shores of the Dead Sea are the lowest point on the surface of the earth-431 meters below sea level.

The saline water of the lake gives lead to the name ‘The Dead Sea’ because no fish can survive in the salty waters. The salty waters of The Dead Sea are renowned for their health and healing properties and the remarkable feature that one can float naturally on them.

Sunrise at The Dead Sea is often considered to be one of the world’s most impressive to photograph, due to the slowness of light emerging over the Jordanian Moab Mountains. Every five minutes you will experience a radiation of different colors in the sky, on the mountains and reflected in the sea itself.
